In his first year as a Bulldog, Douglas County High School (DHCS) graduate Jonathan Jefferson has already experienced college football’s biggest stage. On the night of Jan. 10, Jefferson and his teammates hoisted the College Football Playoff Championship trophy to bring the University of Georgia its first football national championship in 41 years.
Jefferson saw his first collegiate action in the Athens, against Charleston Southern game, when he recorded three total tackles.
In his four years at DCHS, Jefferson was a key player for the Tigers. He finished his career with 254 tackles, including 54 tackles for a loss and 41 sacks. As a senior, Jefferson was rated a four-star prospect by many national recruiting services before enrolling at UGA.
While enrolled in the DCSS, Jefferson attended Annette Winn Elementary School, New Manchester Elementary School and Factory Shoals Middle School.
