The Douglas County School System is currently looking for bus drivers.
Prerequisites: Successfully pass CDL Instructional Permit (All Parts)
Post Offer Pre Employment: Successfully pass Fingerprinting, DOT physical and MVR screening
Training Program
Week 1: 20 hours of Classroom Training- Employment begins the first day of Classroom Training
Week 2: 20 hours total training with a combination of Driving without Students on board and riding routes to equal 20 hours.
Week 3: 20 hours total training with a combination of Road Testing, Driving w/ Students on Board and riding routes to equal 20 hours.
Week 4 – Week 6: Employees still in DIT program in weeks 4-6 will need to spend hours not completing training requirements riding on a bus for up to 20 hours.
If at the conclusion of week 6 requirements for transitioning to Full time driver are not met, the employee will have the option to resign or their employment will end.
Driver in Training will be hired at a rate of $16.13/ hour for the maximum number of hours outlined above.
Benefits will be available beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
