Magnet Program Acceptance

Acceptances to Magnet Programs Released February 3
Posted on 01/29/2021

Eighth grade students who applied to a magnet program at one of the five high schools may log into AwardSpring to learn of their acceptance to one or more programs after 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3. Please click “Read More” for information on how to access the acceptance information.

To see the programs for which you have been accepted, please follow these steps:

  • Log in to your AwardSpring account. This is the platform that you used to apply for one or more magnet programs.
  • You will need to type your initials to acknowledge that you understand that you can accept admission to only one magnet program.
  • You will indicate whether you accept your invitation to participate in the magnet program for which you are accepted.
  • Please answer the follow-up questions for EACH program you are invited to attend, including the ones you will not accept.
  • You may receive a follow-up email about admission status; however, if you registered for AwardSpring with your DCSS email address, you will not receive the automatically generated email. Not receiving the email does not affect your acceptance status.
  • Some magnet programs may send a letter through the U.S. Postal Service as well. These letters will be mailed on February 3.
  • Please note that the AwardSpring platform is designed for scholarship applications, so you will see on your dashboard that you have been “awarded” $0.01 for each program for which you are accepted. Please understand that there is no money associated with your acceptance into a magnet program.
  • If you have any questions about the process of accessing your acceptance information, please contact the magnet coordinator at the high school. Contact information for each school is available here.
