Kaleidoscope is a salute to the arts featuring vocal, dance, and visual performances from talented high school students in the Douglas County School System. The community is invited to this special evening of talent on April 16 at 6:30 p.m. in Douglas County High School’s Mashburn Theater.
The evening’s vocal talent will include an a capella performance, show choirs, and special selections from musicals. This year, a visual arts display has been added to feature art in various mediums created by high school students.
Kaleidoscope is coordinated by KC Emberson, Douglas County Education Foundation board member and owner of Dance Academy West. "It's an honor to be a part of Kaleidoscope this year,” said Ms. Emberson. “I am so proud of the fine arts students in our community, and I am excited that we are all able come together to recognize these talented students and celebrate the arts."
Several colleges and universities will be at the event to meet with students interested in learning more about their fine arts programs and admissions process. Students interested in talking with college and university representatives should plan to arrive at 5:00 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students and may be purchased at the door or at ShowTix4U.com.
The second annual Kaleidoscope is sponsored by the Douglas County Education Foundation. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the foundation and the fine arts programs at the high schools.
