We are thrilled to announce that the construction of our brand-new high school is scheduled to break ground this October! This is an incredibly exciting time for our community, and we are eager to embark on this journey toward building a state-of-the-art facility for our students.
Over the past few weeks, contractors and representatives from Greystone Power have been on campus. They have been diligently on-site, planning and preparing for the initial phases of this monumental project. Their work is crucial in ensuring a smooth and safe transition into the construction phase.
Parking and Transportation Updates
As we move forward, there will be some necessary changes to our campus layout, particularly concerning parking and traffic flow. I want to keep you as informed and prepared as possible throughout this process.
Student Parking: For the time being, students should continue to park in the current student parking lot. A friendly reminder to all student drivers: a parking pass is required to park on campus. The cost for a parking pass is $50. Please be sure to see Mrs. Santoni in the main office from 9:00 A.M. - 3:30 P.M. to obtain yours if you haven't already.
Future Changes: As construction progresses, student parking will need to be relocated. We are working closely with the contractors to finalize the new parking plan. As soon as I receive the updated information, I will share it with you immediately. Please be on the lookout for these important updates via email and/or in the weekly newsletter regarding when and where students will park.
Pick-up and Drop-off: Similarly, the routes for student pick-up and drop-off will also be subject to periodic changes. To ensure you have the most current information, I will be sending out a QR code and additional details well in advance of any changes. This will allow you to plan your daily routines accordingly. We anticipate these changes will be necessary to maintain safety and efficiency around the construction zone.
A Call for Patience and Preparation This project will undoubtedly bring some temporary disruptions, but the end result will be a beautiful, modern school that will serve generations of Lithia Springs High School students. We ask for your patience, cooperation, and understanding during this period.
Plan Ahead: Please consider leaving a little earlier each day to account for any potential traffic adjustments.
Stay Informed: Read all communications carefully. I will ensure all updates regarding parking, pick-up, and drop-off are sent out with ample notice.
Be Patient: Let's work together to make this process as smooth as possible. Your patience and positive attitude will be a huge help!
This is a monumental step for our school community, and we are so grateful for your support. I look forward to sharing more updates with you as we begin this exciting journey of building our new state-of-the-art high school.
