new car rider

Factory Shoals Elementary School will implement new morning arrival procedures beginning Monday, April 20, 2026, as part of the rollout of its Evolv safety screening system. The updates are designed to strengthen campus security while maintaining an efficient start to the school day.

Under the new procedures, all morning car riders will be dropped off at the front of the building to ensure every student goes through the Evolv screening system upon entry. To help streamline the process, students are encouraged to remove items such as binders, eyeglass cases, and umbrellas before entering, as these may trigger additional screening.

The afternoon car rider process will remain unchanged. However, in the morning, families should continue to follow the established traffic pattern by proceeding down the hill and looping back up to the front of the school. School officials emphasize that all vehicles must be in line by 7:40 a.m. to allow students to be released. After that time, parents will need to park and escort their child into the building through the front entrance for screening.

In addition, the first entrance to the school parking lot will be closed. All traffic will enter through the second driveway, as the front loop transitions to a one-way entry system.

Special considerations have also been made for PEC students. PEC Bus riders will now be dropped off at the back entrance in the bus lane. PEC car riders can use the car rider line or park and walk their child through the front entrance, whichever works best for their family.

School leadership acknowledges that transitions like this can take time and asks for families' patience and cooperation. Staff members and the School Resource Officer will be present to assist and guide traffic during the adjustment period.

We appreciate your patience and understanding in advance.
