Superintendent Dr. Trent North and the Douglas County Board of Education are proud to announce that Sarah Brownlow has been named the new principal at Factory Shoals Elementary School.

Brownlow is a veteran educator who served most recently as an assistant principal at Beulah Elementary School.

She holds a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Dual Language Immersion from Georgia State University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Spanish from the University of West Georgia. As a lifelong learner, she is currently pursuing advanced leadership certifications with the University of West Georgia.

Throughout her career, Brownlow has had the privilege of working in various educational roles, all focused on improving student achievement across multiple subject areas.

At Factory Shoals Elementary School, Brownlow said her goal is to build upon and continue the Dolphin culture of excellence and achievement.

To achieve this, she plans to work alongside the exceptional staff at Factory Shoals Elementary School to provide an outstanding educational experience for all students.

“I strive to develop positive relationships with each of our students,” Brownlow said. “I believe in building a school culture that celebrates student success in all areas, promotes positive growth, and values the talents of every student.”

She added that open communication and collaboration are essential to student success. She encourages all Factory Shoals parents to actively engage in their child's education and participate in the school community. Throughout the school year, families can expect regular updates on important events and academic celebrations.
