Science fair enthusiasts representing grades six through 12 were all smiles on Thursday, Jan. 22,
as they proudly presented their individual and team projects to judges and attendees at the district-level science fair. Competing for the top spot, each school-level winner showcased their work, offering insights into their innovative ideas.
“These students are shaping the future of science,” said Jeremy Anderson, DCSS Lead ILT and organizer of the Science Fair. “Through diverse and exciting projects, students created their own scents, developed AI-powered model homes and designed a magnetic glove capable of exploring soft tissue.”
The judges were deeply inspired by the students’ vision and commitment.
“Judging the science fair was a great experience," remarked Matt Elliot, engineer at Southwire in Carrollton. “I really enjoyed hearing the students talk through their ideas, the challenges they faced and seeing the pride they had for their projects.”
The Douglas County School System will send 18 projects to the Regional Science & Engineering

Each project highlighted the passion and creativity of these young future scientists.
