Former Chapel Hill High football star Bradyn Swinson has punched his ticket to Super Bowl LX with the New England Patriots.
Swinson was drafted by the Patriots in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft after a standout college career at LSU and Oregon. The 6-foot-4, 255-pound defender made the All-SEC team as a defensive lineman for the Tigers in 2024.
During his career at Chapel Hill, Swinson won the Howard Thompson Trophy as the best overall player in the county during his senior season when he totaled 78 tackles, including 21 for a loss and 13 total sacks.
He is the second former Chapel Hill player to reach the Super Bowl. Former defensive end Cam Gill won Super Bowl LV with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021.
Swinson and the Patriots will face the Seattle Seahawks with kickoff set for 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
