Douglas County High School junior Eduardo Lozano will compete in three events at next week's Georgia High School Association Swimming and Diving Championship at Georgia Tech.
Lozano, the team captain, qualified in the 500-yard freestyle, 200 freestyle and 100 freestyle. He set new school records this season in the 100 breaststroke and 100 freestyle and holds the county record in the 500 freestyle.
Sophomore Xiyao Gu has also had an outstanding season, winning the 100 and 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 200 IM.
"[Gu] continues to be a strong contributor to the team's success," coach Jill Frazier said.
Newer swimmers including Aniya Bailey, Ana Lamy, Daniel Ogbamichael and Jordynn Strickland, along with returning swimmer William Ortega, have steadily improved their times throughout the season.
