Lithia Springs Elementary came alive on Oct. 8 with the vibrant sights, sounds and flavors of LSES staff members hold goodies for students at the Hispanic Heritage celebration.Hispanic culture during its Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration.

The celebration featured live performances by each grade level, with students showcasing traditional dances from various Spanish-speaking countries.

“This event truly shows how our school celebrates unity through diversity,” Principal Tonia Small said. “It’s wonderful to see our students and families come together to honor culture, tradition, and learning.”

Media specialist Melissa Babecka said the energy and excitement were contagious as the audience clapped along and cheered for every group, adding that the performances beautifully reflected the pride and effort the students put into learning about the cultures they represented.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, a live mariachi band filled the air with joyful music, bringing everyone to their feet. The sounds of trumpets, violins, and guitars set the perfect tone for the evening, highlighting the rich musical heritage celebrated throughout Hispanic culture.

Families also enjoyed delicious food representing many countries from the Hispanic region. The aroma of authentic dishes welcomed guests as they gathered to share meals and conversation.

Parents played a huge role in making the event a success—many volunteered to help with food, decorations, and student performances, showcasing the strong sense of community that defines Lithia Springs Elementary.

The Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration was a beautiful reminder of the importance of embracing and learning from one another’s backgrounds, Babecka said. It was a night full of color, joy, music, and pride—a true reflection of the heart of the Lithia Springs Elementary community.
