Dorsett Shoals and Mason Creek Elementary Schools recently kicked off the college football 
season in high fashion. College Colors Day brought out several football fans at Dorsett Shoals Elementary, celebrating the beginning of “Friday Night Lights.”
“We found lots of fans at DSES,” Principal Kelly Brown said. “Our teachers were also treated to lunch to round out the first full month of school. It's always a great day to be a Panther,” she added.
Meanwhile, at Mason Creek Elementary, College Football Kickoff Day was nothing short of exciting at the Creek. Students and staff showed their spirit by dressing up and celebrating the start of the football season, enjoying a cookout with all of their favorite fixings.
“On Friday, Mason Creek Elementary students and staff came to school showing their spirit loud and proud,” Principal Kristin Martin said. “From Georgia to Georgia Tech, Alabama to Auburn—we cheered, we laughed and we celebrated in style!”
Both schools proved that in Douglas County, school pride and football spirit go hand in hand.
