Third-year Alexander Head Football Coach Cody Neal says his Cougars are a year older, strongerTight End Paxton Dobbs and faster than they were last year.

Neal also points to leadership as a strength on this year’s team.

The coach said Alexander’s primary goal this year is to get into the postseason while making sure his players are good all-around young men.

“It's always trying to make the playoffs and be the best thing that we can be,” Neal said at the recent DCSS Fall Athletic Media Day at Legacy Arena. “You know, we talk to our kids about playing together as a team … We always want to stress being good teammates and doing the best you can. And it's about being a complete student-athlete up in the building, doing the right things, being accountable, and all that good stuff.”

Neal highlighted several key players:

  • WR/DB Terrence Booker

  • DB LeShawn Belton

  • ATH Andre Lovett

  • TE Paxton Dobbs (South Alabama commit)

  • DL Jai Patel

  • OL/DL Jasen Dewbre

  • OL/DL Brandon Farrell

  • OL/DL/LS Chase Postell

  • DL Kasen Cobb

  • QB Chace Collins

  • RB/LB Troy Pantlitz

  • OL/DL Luke Keller

  • RB/LB Nathan Roberts

Alexander is coming off a 34-31 victory at Cedartown last week. The Cougars are off this week before traveling to Villa Rica on Sept. 12.
