Superintendent Trent North is delighted to announce the appointment of Damon Murray as Executive Director of Facility Use for the Douglas County School System, effective March 1, 2022.

In this new position, Murray will oversee the multi-purpose arena, which will host high school graduations and other events, and all rentable facilities across the school district. This position includes managing budgets, staff, engineering, operations, site conversions, FF&E, CAPEX, renovations, construction, and event production.

“Our new leader brings a unique set of skills to this position. His experience and enthusiasm to make our multi-purpose arena a phenomenal venue make him the perfect choice for this new role,” said Superintendent North. “He’s held leadership roles in arenas similar to what we are building. He understands the industry and will be an asset to Douglas County.”

Murray currently serves as director of engineering at Seattle, Washington’s Climate Pledge Arena. He also served in leadership roles at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, and the US Cellular Center in Asheville.

Each of Murray’s leadership positions offered him several years of experience with engineering, operations, and facilities management. Murray holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and is a IAVM Venue Management School graduate.
