Superintendent Trent North is delighted to announce the appointment of K’Asha Davis as principal of Chapel Hill Elementary School, effective immediately. Davis will replace LaTonya Jones, who moved from the Douglas County area in June.

“I look forward to serving the Chapel Hill Elementary staff and community with servant leadership,” said Ms. Davis. “With a collaborative, passionate, team effort, we will focus on academic excellence for each and every student at Chapel Hill Elementary.”

An educator for 14 years, Ms. Davis has served as a classroom teacher, grade level chair, school improvement coach and K-5 ELA content specialist. Her last position was assistant principal at Holly Springs Elementary.

Ms. Davis began her teaching career in Florida before teaching all boys abroad in Abu Dhabi. She also worked for Fulton County Schools and was named Teacher of the Year for Love T. Nolan Elementary in College Park. She has been with the Douglas County School System since 2017.

Ms. Davis holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Florida A & M University, a master’s degree in reading and literacy from Benedictine University and an educational specialist degree in curriculum and instruction from Piedmont College.
