Online Learning Options
The two online learning options for 2021-2022 are FLEX Academy and FLEX Live-Online. Although the deadline has passed to register for these options, we understand that some parents may want to change to online learning due to the increase in COVID cases. Students must meet certain criteria in order to participate in online learning. If you are interested in exploring this option for your child, please reach out to the principal at your child's school. The principal will check to see if your child qualifies for an online option based on last year's enrollment, grades, attendance, etc.

Mask Guidance, Online Options
The Douglas County School System plans to hold classes in person five days a week for the 2021-2022 school year. The first day of class for students is August 4.
As positive COVID-19 cases continue to trend down and as vaccinations continue to trend up, we hope that masks will be optional for the 2021-2022 school year. In July, we will review local data and CDC guidance and announce a decision on masks and other COVID-19 protocols. Regardless of the decision of the district, any student or staff member who would prefer to continue wearing a mask while attending school or school events should feel free to do so.
DCSS will offer two programs for students who would prefer to learn online:
FLEX Academy
and
COVID Extension Services
. The application period has ended for these programs; however, students new to Douglas County may apply.

Friday, May 28, 2021, is the last date that the school system will report weekly cases of COVID-19 for students and staff. The school system will continue to do contact tracing and follow protocol for any cases that occur during the summer.
