Welcome to Kindergarten in the Douglas County School System!
We are thrilled to have the Class of 2034 join us for an exciting journey! Kindergarten is a time of personal adjustment and a stepping out beyond the family to the wider world.
Beginning Monday, May 3, 2021, parents may register their children for kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year. Completing registration early will help your child’s teacher to be ready to welcome your child when the school year begins on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.
Georgia
law requires that kindergarten students be five years old on or before Sept. 1,
2021.
Free or Reduced Lunch Information
New kindergarten students to Douglas County Schools with siblings who were eligible for the Free or Reduced Program for 2020-2021 may qualify to eat on sibling’s prior year status for the first 30 days of school year 2021-2022 or until a new free or reduced application is processed. All students must pay for meals until an application can be approved. Your child will be given the how to APPLY ONLINE Meal Application Information Letter on the first day of school.
To apply for your child to have Free or Reduced meals beginning on the first day of school, please fill out the form indicating the name(s) of the siblings who received Free or Reduced meals for 2020-2021.

following documents are needed to complete the registration process:
- Certified Copy of Birth
Certificate
- Georgia Immunization Form
3231 (complete for school)
- Georgia Eye, Ear, Dental
and BMI Form 3300 (must be completed within 12 months prior to enrollment
in a Georgia School)
- Student’s Social Security
Card or Waiver
- Parent/Legal Guardian’s
Photo ID
- Custody/Guardianship
Papers signed by a judge (if applicable)
- Proof of Residency - The

Please remember to check
with your doctor or the local health department to complete and update the
immunization record for your child. It is required that all students’
immunization is in 100% compliance.

Registered for Kindergarten? Now you can sign up for Kindergarten Camp!
July 19 - 22, our incoming kindergartners have the opportunity to attend camp at their school for four days. They will learn their way around the school, participate in fun activities, enjoy breakfast and lunch and get to know the kindergarten teachers. They will be ready to learn on the first day of "real" school!
After you register your child for kindergarten and receive an application number, you may go to the Kindergarten Camp link below. You must be registered for kindergarten and have the application number before you can register for Kindergarten Camp.
