High Schools Receive New Honor for AP Programs back button

All high schools in Douglas County have been named 2016 AP (Advanced Placement) Honor Schools by the Georgia Department of Education. This newest recognition comes after the announcement last fall by the College Board naming the Douglas County School District as one of six school districts in Georgia to earn a place on the 6th Annual AP District Honor Roll for increasing access to AP course work while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of three or higher on AP exams.

Chapel Hill, Douglas County, Lithia Springs, and New Manchester High Schools were named AP STEM Schools as a result of having students testing in at least two AP math courses and two AP science courses.

Alexander and Douglas County High Schools were named AP Humanities Schools with students testing in all of the following AP courses: at least one ELA course, two social science courses, one fine arts course, and one world language course.
