Interactive Whiteboard

The Promethean ActivBoard is located in

each classroom, along with a projection

system.This interactive, touch screen

display allows students and teachers

to effectively interact with digital 

resources, and serves as a focal 

point in the 21st Century Classroom.

Student Response System

ActivExpression student handsets

allow students to respond in real

time to teacher prompts and questions. 

Students receive immediate feedback,

and teachers know instantly which

students need remediation and support.

 Teacher Slate

The ActivSlate allows the teacher to

control the board display from

anywhere in the room. This makes the

display much more useful and gives

teachers more flexibility in classroom

management.

Document Camera

The Lumens Ladibug is a high

quality digital camera that uses

projection, still photography, and

 video recording. Images are

projected onto the whiteboard

display, facilitating engaging

dialogue between students and

their peers. Time lapse

photography is enabled with the 

Ladibug as well.

 Mobile Devices

More student and teacher devices are

becoming mobile within our district.

Fixed desktop labs are being replaced

with mobile laptop carts as part

of the district technology refresh

plan. The mobility of these devices

allows flexibility in  how, when,

and where they are used. This

provides teachers with the opportunities

to ensure more effective usage

by students.

Office 365

DCSS uses Microsoft Office 365 as

the email and cloud storage system.

Students have access to an account

which provides unlimited storage,

as well as free downloads of the

Office software for personal devices. 

All middle and high school students

have email associated with their

accounts.

Engrade

Engrade is the Learning and 

Assessment Management System for

Douglas County Schools. The online

platforms allow teachers to build

course maps, assign & collect work

digitally, and administer assessments.
